Overview
The International Leadership in Education Program (ILEP) of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State has been bringing outstanding secondary school teachers from the Near East, South and Southeast Asia to the United States since 2005, and has now expanded to also invite educators from South Africa, Ghana, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador and Senegal. The primary focus of ILEP is on best practices for the classroom teacher in the secondary school.

The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2011 and conclude in May 2011, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with American teachers and students.
