PhD positions in Computer Science at the Department of Information Technology, for the topic; Algorithms and optimization
The PhD student will be working in a project on algorithms for electronic commerce. However the condense is far from strict. There is room for creativity.
A PhD student position requires a Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent in a field that is relevant for the topic of the PhD thesis. Candidates of all nationalities may apply. The position is for a maximum of five years and includes departmental duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching). The candidate is expected to have a solid background in mathematics, algorithm theory, and programming.
Applications must include a brief description in English (or Swedish) of research interests and past experience that are relevant to the thesis topic, a CV, copies and translations (into English or Swedish) of diplomas and transcripts, a copy/abstract of the Master thesis (or the current draft thereof, if it is unfinished), other relevant documents, as well as the earliest feasible starting date of employment. Candidates must provide contact information to at least three referees, but no actual reference letters.
