Overview
Saint Mary’s College is one of the oldest four-year women’s colleges in the United States, having been founded by the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1844. With a population of about 1600, Saint Mary’s has long been recognized for its exceptional academic programs and for preparing graduates to make a difference in the world.
Saint Mary’s 98-acre campus is located just across the street from the University of Notre Dame, just minutes north of the city of South Bend (population 150,000), and only 1 ½ hours east of Chicago (population 14 million). With a student to faculty ratio of 10:1 and small discussion-based classes, students are ensured that our faculty provides personal attention, engage them in lively dialogue, and assist in shaping their dreams and aspirations.
Qualified international applicants are eligible for both academic scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $17,000 per year and financial aid ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 per year. The deadline to apply is February 15, 2011. Students need to complete the application for admission and submit all required academic documents in order to be considered for admission to the College and for academic scholarships. Additionally, students applying for financial aid will need to complete the CSS financial aid PROFILE at https://profileonline.collegeboard.com/prf/index.jsp and use code 1702.
Consideration for scholarships will be based on:
• The challenge of the student’s secondary school curriculum
• Grade Point Average
• Class rank (when appropriate)
• Test scores (TOEFL or SAT, if available)
