Fulbright Scholarships for for Belgium and Luxembourg – Grants for Post-Doctoral Research
Deadline: MARCH 1
The Commission will only consider applications in this competition from research scholars and lecturers who are assured of a position with an American institution of higher education.
I. Fulbright Awards
Approximately 10 grants-in-aid and travel grants will be available for candidates who would undertake post-doctoral research or university lecturing for a minimum of three months, maximum one year, at a maximum of two accredited American universities or institutions of higher education. preliminary application
II. Fulbright-Schuman Program
Approximately 22 awards will be available for EU academics, professionals, or policy makers for research or lecturing on EU affairs or U.S.-E.U. relations at a recognized institution in the U.S. Each award includes a monthly stipend, round-trip travel, health and accident insurance, and visa sponsorship. APPLICATION TIMELINE FOR LECTURER-RESEARCH SCHOLARS:
March 2, 2010: Competition opens, applications available
February 15, 2011: Suggested deadline for preliminary application form
March 1, 2011: Final application deadline (including three letters of recommendations and letter of affiliation or invitation from a U.S. university)
March 15, 2011: Deadline for 3 letters of recommendations
Mid March 2011: 15 minute interview in English at the Commission for Educational Exchange in Brussels
Mid March 2011: Applicants notified by physical mail
April 2011: Health forms needed
Mid June 2011: Pre-departure meeting at the U.S. Embassy and reception with the U.S. ambassador
September 2011-March: Departures to the U.S.
