Overview
Grenoble Ecole de Management and its LINC lab is a partner of the Marie Curie (MC) Initial Training Network (ITN) ManETEI (Management of Emerging Technologies for Economic Impact), which is funded by the European Union in the 7th Framework Programme.
ManETEI is an interdisciplinary research network seeking to develop knowledge on the multifaceted phenomenon of managing emergent technologies, and integrate this with an additional focus on advanced capacity building and career development that will benefit early-career researchers from Europe and worldwide.
Additional European academic and industrial partner institutions in the project are: University of Leeds (UK) Co-ordinator, Erasmus University Rotterdam (NL), Helsinki School of Economics (FI), University College Dublin (IRL), Empresa Business School (ES), University of Lubljana (SI), Fraunhofer Institute (DE), and Bayer Technology Services GMBH (DE).
The ManETEI-funded DBA candidates have to apply successfully for admission to the Joint DBA Degree Programme awarded by Grenoble Ecole de Management and Newcastle University (UK). This is a unique European Doctoral Degree thematically focused on technology, innovation and change management:

Job Description
We are looking for excellent candidates with an interest in combining empirical socio-economic research, in our case technology and innovation management in semiconductors, micro- and nano-electronics. A sound background in research methods using both, quantitative (statistical and social network analysis) and qualitative (ethnography, interviewing and participant observation) methods is mandatory.
For an entry on the 1st of September 2010, the deadline for applications is on the 30th of June 2010.
Additional Entry Requirements:
• Masters degree in the Social Sciences, Economics, Science and Technology Studies, or related areas (including Engineering disciplines related to semiconductors)
• High motivation in performing interdisciplinary research
• Fluent English (and at least working knowledge of French)
• Mobility (the willingness to live and work in a foreign country)
• Experience with empirical research (both qualitative and quantitative methods)
• Computer literacy (use of specialised software for data collection and analysis)
• Since the funding is for three years, ideally, candidates should be able to enter Stage II of the joint DBA degree, which requires a relevant Masters degree and sufficient research methods training for doctoral level study
Important: Graduates will be hosted at the LINC Lab and benefit from opportunities for industrial secondments in ST Microelectronics and possibly Intel (both are associate partners for the ManETEI project).
Benefits
Fellowships include EU funding for 3 years and start on September 1, 2010.
The living and mobility allowance it includes a gross annual salary of €36,000 – €40,000.
