Overview
The Governing Body proposes to elect one Laming Junior Fellowship in the field of living foreign languages or modern subjects connected therewith.
A candidate for a Junior Fellowship must be a citizen of Britain or another country belonging to the European Union and a member of Oxford University, who shall normally not, on the first day of tenure of the Fellowship, have entered upon the twenty-fifth term from his or her matriculation at the university where he or she obtained a first degree.
The Fellowship will be tenable for one year from 1st October 2011 and may be extended for a further year. The Fellow will be required to reside in the foreign country to which the course of study relates for a period determined by the Governing Body, and, apart from reasonable vacations, will be required to reside in Oxford for any part of the period of the appointment not spent abroad.
The total emoluments and allowances will amount to not less than £12,717 per annum. University fees, where appropriate, may be paid in addition. During residence in Oxford, Fellows are entitled to free single College accommodation and to lunch and dine at the common table free of charge.
