Overview
Fulbright is pleased to announce the opening of its 2011 competition for the International Fulbright Science and Technology Awards for Outstanding Foreign Students. This award, designed to be among the most prestigious international scholarships, is for Ph.D. studies at top U.S. institutions in science, technology or engineering. Candidates should demonstrate unique aptitude and innovation in scientific fields.
Eligible Fields
Aeronautics and astronomic, aeronautical engineering, astronom, planetary sciences; biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry; computer science; engineering, energy, engineering (electrical, chemical, civil, mechanical, ocean, and petroleum); environmental science; engineering, geology/earth and atmospheric sciences; information sciences; engineering, materials science; engineering, mathematics, neuroscience/brain and cognitive science; oceanography and pysics.
Specific Eligibility Criteria
In addition to the general requirements, applicants must be Argentine citizens, have a university degree (minimum four-year coursework), a minimum 7-point GPA (including failures), excellent command of English (TOEFL (237 on the computer-based test or 580 on the paper-based test). Selected candidates should also take the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) and attain a quantitative score of at least 700.
Benefits
Round-trip international travel, monthly maintenance, health insurance, and university fees and tuition.
Duration
Three years.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted by April 16th the year previous to taking up the award. The grantees will begin their academic program in the U.S. in August of the following year. Awards will be announced at our webpage in mid July, every year .
