UK: PhD Programme in Media and Arts Technology at Queen Mary, University of London

Overview

We are currently seeking applications for the PhD in Media and Arts Technology, an innovative inter-disciplinary training programme in thescience and technologies currently transforming the creative sector. Queen Mary, University of London is one of the UK's leading research universities and is located at the heart of Europe's largest concentration of creative industries.

Deadline for the first round of scholarships is 2 April for 2010 entry.

An innovative inter-disciplinary training programme in the science and technologies currently transforming the creative sector. Our mission is to produce postgraduates who combine world-class technical and creative skills and will go on to become leaders in the on-going regeneration of the UK Creative Industries. Graduates of the programme will include both technologists with a strong creative flair, and creatives with excellent technological skills and awareness. Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK's leading research universities and is located at the heart of Europe's largest concentration of creative industries. In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (2008), we were ranked 13th in the UK by the Times Higher Education Supplement and 11th by The Guardian.


Eligibility and Stipend

We are looking for inspiring applications for at least 12 fully-funded scholarships. Successful candidates will be provided with an annual tax-free stipend (£15,290 in 2010) plus tuition fees. Please note that due to external funding restrictions most of these scholarships are restricted to UK citizens or EU students who have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years. However, two scholarships are open to applicants of any nationality. We also welcome applications from those with other sources of funding.
