The Protein Research Group (www.protein.sdu.dk) at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for a position as postdoctoral research fellow within the field of bioinformatics and computational proteomics to be filled by 1 January, 2011 or soon thereafter.
The applicant will be working on the project entitled The Dynamic Proteome: Elucidation of post-translational regulatory events by multiplexed mass spectrometry experiments. The work will encompass the organization and computational/statistical analysis of large-scale datasets obtained by mass spectrometry analysis of complex protein samples, including nuclear preparations and other subcellular compartments. Implicit in the project is the use and the development of new computational and statistical tools and the maintenance of a database server.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of mathematical concepts in computational and statistical approaches to analyze biological data. Knowledge of and experience in R, C++, Java, MySQL and perl will be an advantage. The applicant should demonstrate experience in analyzing large-scale proteomics or genomics datasets.
The position is for a duration of 2½ years.
