Postdoc Project: Influence of protein kinase C on cardiac myofilament phosphorylation and contractile function
Position Details:
A post-doctoral position is available for a scientist interested in studying cellular signaling via sarcomeric proteins in adult ventricular cardiac myocytes. Our current focus is to understand the influence of myofilament protein phosphorylation by protein kinase C on myocyte contractile function. Gene transfer is used to express modified myofilament proteins for subsequent biochemical and biophysical analysis of cellular structure and function in myocytes. Graduate training in cardiovascular biology is essential. Applicants with experience in cellular phosphorylation assays and/or mechanical analysis of myocyte contractile function are encouraged to apply. This position will be available in January, 2002.
