The Kyoto Symposium Organization and The San Diego Foundation with Japan's Inamori Foundation, offer for the 2010-2011 Kyoto Scholarships. Named in honour of the Kyoto Prize, Japan's highest private award for global achievement, these scholarships recognize high school seniors from San Diego County and the greater Tijuana region.
The scholarships, based on the annual Kyoto Prize categories of Advanced Technology, Basic Sciences, and Arts and Philosophy, will assist three San Diego County and three Tijuana area students with higher education. They are valued at up to $10,000 each. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Gala event, 'The Kyoto Prize: Celebrating Outstanding Human Achievement,' on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
Award:
Three awards from San Diego and three from Tijuana and the amount of each award would be up to $10,000.

Eligibility:
The Kyoto Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from San Diego County who will attend an accredited four-year university in the United States in Fall 2010. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be actively involved in serving their community as demonstrated by their involvement in community/church service, extra-curricular activities, or work experience.

2010-2011 Kyoto Scholarship Applications must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 and mailed to The San Diego Foundation,
Attn: Kyoto Scholarship, 2508 Historic Decatur Rd., Ste. 200, San Diego, CA 92106.
All application materials must be mailed together. Incomplete, late or faxed applications will not be accepted.
