Sweden: Doctoral Student Position in Business Administration with specialization in International Corporate Finance, Lund University School of Economi

Lund University School of Economics and Management invites applications for the following position: “Doctoral student in Business Administration with specialization in International Corporate Finance” with placement at the Department of Business Administration.

The initial appointment is for one year, which is then renewed for no more than two years at a time. The position is limited to a maximum of four years effective time, which is the expected time required to complete the doctoral programme at the Department of Business Administration.

Qualifications and selection criteria

The applicant must hold a master degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Finance. If the applicant holds a master degree in Finance, the applicant must also hold a bachelor degree including at least 90 ECTS credits in business administration, or equivalent education. The applicant must have completed at least 240 ECTS credits of university studies, at least 60 of which should be at the advanced (master) level. The applicant must also have completed a thesis or a longer paper as part of the master degree. The application must include a research plan where the applicant presents his/her own ideas for a research topic. The applicant must also have a good command of spoken and written English.

Assessment of the application is mostly based on the relevance and viability of the research plan and the applicant’s academic results on the bachelor and master levels.

Being a doctoral student at the Department of Business Administration

The PhD programme in Business Administration at Lund University is a four-year programme for a doctoral degree. The doctoral degree consists of two parts, courses (90 ECTS credits) and a thesis (150 ECTS credits). As a doctoral student you will mainly be working with your research project, but you can also be given more general tasks at the department, e.g. teaching, research or administrative work, in accordance with the regulations. Rules for employment as a Doctoral student are stated in “The Higher Education Ordnance (SFS 1998:80), Chapter 5″.

Degree certificates of your bachelor and master degrees
Copy of your master thesis
Curriculum Vitae
Copies of certificates and copies of any other document that you wish to include in your application.
