Overview
The Willy Brandt School of Public Policy Erfurt in cooperation with DAAD announces Research Fellowships and Scholarships for Doctoral and Master’s Students:
Research Fellowships:
in the context of their Conflict Studies and Management Programme (CSMP) The CSMP fellowships offer outstanding Pakistani scientists and researchers the opportunity to conduct research with a focus on application at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy in Erfurt, Germany. The fellows will have a teaching commitment at the Brandt School of generally 2 hours per week.
Duration: 6 to 24 months.
Requirements: Ph.D., proven research experience of at least two years in a relevant field (preferably political and social sciences with a strong focus on conflict studies) and institution. Applicants should be currently working in institutions of higher education or at a research institute; positions are open to outstandingly-qualified academics and scientists. Date of commence: October 1, 2010 (unless agreed otherwise with Willy-Brandt School)
Application deadline: April 1, 2010 (or six month prior to commencement of fellowship)
Application documents:
Each set of application comprises the DAAD application form “Research Stays and Study Visits for University Academics and Scientists” and the following accompanying documents
1. Curriculum vitae,
2. list of publications,
3. a research proposal, including its relevance to the research interests at the Brandt School;
4. a concise description of relevant teaching and research experience,
5. 2 letters of recommendation attesting to the applicant's academic and/or professional competence;
6. A short writing sample pertinent to the application (no more than 50 pages; please do not send books or lengthy manuscripts);
7. Copies of relevant correspondence with the Brandt School regarding the stay in Erfurt.
How and Where to send Application Package:
Two complete sets of application, clearly mention at the top of envelop ‘Application for scholarship of Willy Brandt School’ should be submitted to:
The Cultural Section of the German Embassy,
Ramna 5, Diplomatic Enclave,
Islamabad.
A third complete copy should be sent directly to:
Willy Brandt School of Public Policy in Erfurt,
Nordhäuser Str. 63, D-99089 Erfurt,
Germany.
