Overview
The Heterogeneous Computing Laboratory at University College Dublin (UCD), as part of the IBM Exascale activity (http://www-05.ibm.com/ie/emerging_business_centre/exascale.html), is seeking a suitable postdoctoral fellow and PhD candidate. These positions will be co-funded by IRCSET and IBM through IRCSET’s Enterprise Partnership Scheme. Applicants must meet IRCSET’s eligibility criteria and will be assessed independently by IRCSET.
The Exascale activity will adopt a Stream Computing paradigm and will utilize streaming hardware and techniques – some of which will be developed as part of this activity. The successful PhD candidate will have a 1st Class honours degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. A Masters degree and strong mathematical skills will be an advantage. Ideally, they should be proficient in C programming and should have a working knowledge of parallel computing concepts. Their interests should lie in the software/hardware interface.
