Marie Curie Research Fellow at University of Leeds, UK

Overview

School of Modern Languages and Cultures, Centre for Translation Studies (Full time, fixed term for 24 months available from 1 March 2011 till 28 February 2013)

The Centre for Translation Studies, University of Leeds, UK, is inviting applications for the post of a Marie Curie Research Fellow to work on a research project funded by the EU FP7 Marie Curie programme. Information about the Centre for Translation Studies can be found at http://www.leeds.ac.uk/cts/.

The Research Fellow will develop advanced methods for machine translation, distributional semantics, automatic grammar induction and dictionary extraction from parallel and comparable corpora. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics or related area and have reached an advanced stage of a career in the field of computational linguistics and natural language processing, with a track record of successful grant preparation (including EU grants), organisation of conferences/workshops, experience in software development and a strong publication record. Good knowledge of Dutch, German or Portuguese is also desirable.

Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the United Kingdom for more than 12 months in the last 3 years immediately prior to their appointment under the project. Short stays such as holidays are not taken into account.


Due to time constraints of the project we can only accept applications from researchers with the right to work in the EU/UK.

You will receive a salary plus allowances according to the Marie Curie Framework 7 requirements for experienced researchers. Please see attached link for further information on Marie Curie Actions); http://ec.europa.eu/mariecurieactions; depending on qualifications and experience.
