Allergy Academy Education Fellow at King's College London

Overview

King's College London is one of the top 25 universities in the world (2010 QS international world rankings); The Sunday Times 'University of the Year 2010/11'; and the fourth oldest in England. A research-led university based in the heart of London, King's has nearly 23,000 students (of whom more than 8,600 are graduate students) from nearly 140 countries, and some 5,500 employees. King's is in the second phase of a £1 billion redevelopment programme which is transforming its estate.

Applications are invited for an Allergy Academy Education Fellow post in Paediatric or Adult Allergy. This is a new post and the first of its kind in UK allergology. It offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the continued development of an educational initiative already providing postgraduate education to over 1000 health care professionals per year. As well as having a pivotal role in the delivery of education, both directly and online, the role will also offer clinical and research opportunities. The post includes the delivery of 2 allergy clinics per week as well as a research fellow role in 2 clinical research studies, with the assistance of MCRN nurses. The post holder will become a fully integrated member of the clinical academic team.

The Allergy Department at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust & King's College London is one of the worldwide biggest research centres for clinical and experimental allergy and amongst the largest clinical allergy services in Europe. Details The candidate will have full GMC registration, a UK recognised medical degree and MRCPCH Part 2. You will be highly motivated, have the ability to think critically, good communication skills, good organizational skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.


Salary Salary will be within the Clinical Research Fellow (NHS Specialist Registrar) grade up to £41,152 pa, plus £2,162 London allowance.

Post duration This is a one year fixed-term post, possibly to be renewed for a further 12 months.
