Master's Scholarship in European and International Affairs, Linköping University

Overview

This programme joins together the experiences of four higher education institutions in European and International studies, creating a unique comprehensive understanding of political, economic, legal, and social developments in Europe, as these are located in a wider global context.

The programme prepares students for professional careers in government institutions and in international organisations in the public as well as the private and non-governmental sectors. The programme is characterised by an interdisciplinary approach and the juxtaposition of European and international affairs in one structure of academic training. Students on the European and International Affairs programme meet experienced and dedicated teachers and researchers from different European universities. Our mission is to provide academic training to equip students with the necessary skills to face the challenges encountered by young professionals working in complex institutional settings in an increasingly competitive and globalised labour market. The programme also provides a solid foundation for further studies and research in European and International studies.

The programme emphasises the importance of an independent and critical approach to complex global and specifically European issues, and develops skills and knowledge that enable you to contribute actively to important developments, as practitioner or as researcher. Specifically, you will acquire the theoretical and methodological tools to reflect upon and to analyse the origins, developments, and dynamics of the contemporary European system of governance in its global setting. You will develop practical skills that enable you to take on advanced analytical and organisational tasks and to independently design and conduct inquiries and reports on issues in European and international affairs.
